2024 Lake Erie South

Day 1 - Saturday June 1, 2024 - Today people will be arriving into the Cleveland Airport and taking a shuttle to the airport.  Hotel Is Hampton Inn North Olmstead.  This evening is the Welcome dinner to make introductions.

Day 2 - Sunday June 2, 2024 - Our first stop is Vermillion Lighthouse for a photo op.  Next we split into 2 groups and take turns going out to Lorain Harbor Lighthouse and visiting Port Authority for a stamp.  We then head for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and spend time exploring this museum.  Back to the hotel and then walk to dinner at Romano Macaroni Grill.

Day 3 - Monday June 3, 2024 - We will board the ferry for South Bass Island.  On the way we will see Green Island Lighthouse on the left. We land in at "Put-in-Bay" and then board a train to tour the island.  We then head for South Bass Island Lighthouse. We will depart for lunch (by voucher) on the island. We will then be able to tour the Visitor Center and the Perry Memorial Lighthouse.  Se will stop at the Historical Society Museum to view the 4th order Fresnel lens. Back on the ferry to mainland and over to visit Port Clinton Lighthouse.  Then back to the hotel and dinner at Harry Buffalo.

Day 4 - Tuesday June 4, 2024 - First visit of the day will be entry into Cedar Point Amusement Park to view Cedar Point Lighthouse and then a short drive to a parking lot for a distant view of Sandusky Harbor Breakwater Light.  We will then depart for Marblehead Lighthouse and the Life Saving Station and Gift Shop.  Next is the Maritime Museum of Sandusky for a visit. Final visit of the day will be Huron Harbor Lighthouse then on to dinner at Tony K's.  Back to the hotel after a long day.

Day 5 - Wednesday June 5, 2024 - We will go to Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center to see the 3.5 Order Fresnel lens, We will board the "Glass City Pearl" and view Toledo Harbor Lighthouse. On the way we will pass the ruins of Turtle Island and West Sister Lighthouses.  We will head to Hanson Industries to view Manhattan Front and Rear Range Lights.  Then on to the National Museum of the Great Lakes.  We will have dinner before heading back to the hotel.

Day 6 - Thursday June 6, 2024 - A full day starting out with Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse. After lunch in the village, we will go to the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse. Our next stop is Conneaut Lighthouse and then on to dinner before going back to the hotel.  

Day 7 - Friday June 7, 2024 - Today we depart to board the Holiday Boat Charters at the Cleveland Pier.  We will tour the harbor to see the Cleveland Harbor Main Entrance Lighthouse, Cleveland East Entrance Light and Cleveland East Breakwater Light.  Lunch will be on board.  We will then go to Ashtabula Maritime and Surface Museum for a visit.  Next stop is Ashtabula Walnut Beach Park and Ashtabula Lighthouse distant picture.  Then back to hotel in time to relax before the Farewell Dinner that evening.

Day 8 - Saturday June 8, 2024 - Breakfast and departures home.
