Itinerary

Note: Unless otherwise noted, all breakfasts will be at our hotels.

April 10, 2010

SAN DIEGO Arrive at San Diego International Airport (SAN) and take a shuttle and check into the hotel. We will have our welcome dinner that evening at the hotel.

April 11, 2010

LONG BEACH
The day begins with a visit to Cabrillo National Monument and a tour of both the Old and New Point Loma lighthouses. We will then head north, stopping along the way for a tour and lunch at the jewel of the California Missions, San Juan Capistrano. Later in the afternoon we will board the Queen Mary in Long Beach for self guided tours, dinner and an overnight stay in outside staterooms aboard this historic ship.

April 12, 2010

VENTURA
Breakfast aboard the Queen Mary is followed by a harbor cruise to view the Angels Gate (LA Harbor) and Robot (Long Beach Harbor) Lights as well as the Lions Lighthouse for Sight, Parker’s Lighthouse Restaurant and other sights in this busy harbor. We will then travel to Point Fermin lighthouse for a tour and lunch, followed by a tour of Point Vicente lighthouse. Our day will conclude with a tour of the Port Hueneme lighthouse. We will spend the night at a hotel in Ventura and have dinner at a local restaurant.

April 13, 2010

SANTA BARBARA
After arriving in Santa Barbara early in the morning we will board a high speed catamaran for a trip up the coast to view the Point Conception lighthouse with some stops along the way to observe whales and dolphins. Lunch will be on your own aboard the vessel. The cruise will continue with a trip along the beautiful northern coastline of Santa Cruz Island (including a stop at the spectacular Painted Cave, one of the world’s largest sea caves) and a view of the Anacapa lighthouse. We will spend the night at a hotel near Santa Barbara and have dinner at a local restaurant.

April 14, 2010

CAMBRIA
Our first stop of the day will be at the Port San Luis lighthouse. We will be shuttled in vans out to the lighthouse for a tour and lunch. In the afternoon we will travel to Cambria where we will view the first order lens from the Piedras Blancas lighthouse, have some free time to shop and spend the first of two nights in this charming beachside community. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

April 15, 2010

CAMBRIA
Today begins with a tour of the Piedras Blancas light station and also a stop at the Piedras Blancas elephant seal rookery which is home to thousands of seals. After a picnic lunch we will take a tour of the world famous Hearst Castle near San Simeon. Later in the afternoon you can stroll along the boardwalk and beach in Cambria or return to town for more shopping. We will spend our second night in Cambria with dinner at a local restaurant.

April 16, 2010

SANTA BARBARA
We will travel back to Santa Barbara where we will have free time to take a wine tour, visit the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, take a trolley tour of Santa Barbara or just kick back and relax. Our farewell dinner will be at the hotel.

Shuttle service will be available to the Santa Barbara airport.
